Community Service
First Tee – Shenandoah Valley partnering with district courts in Virginia:
First Tee – Shenandoah Valley works with the 26th District Juvenile Court Service Unit in Virginia to support youth who face delinquency charges through a juvenile diversion and community service-oriented program. In this partnership, young people who have committed a first offense can be referred by juvenile probation officers to a structured, nine-week program where they learn life skills such as goal setting, interpersonal communication, and conflict resolution alongside exposure to the game of golf and First Tee’s character education curriculum. The aim of this collaboration is to help participants reflect on their choices, complete meaningful community service or structured activities instead of entering deeper into the court system, and equip them with tools to make better decisions in the future.
